Document 1/24/1 (A-S Relations, no. 2)
- Description
- Richard, king of England notifies that he has restored to his cousin, William, king of Scotland, his castles of Roxburgh and Berwick. Richard also releases William from all agreements which his father King Henry extracted from him by new charters and by capture, so that he will do what his brother Malcolm, king of Scotland, did of right, and ought to have done of right, for his predecessors, and Richard shall do for him whatever his predecessors did for Malcolm. King William has become Richard's liege man for all lands for which his predecessors were liege men, and has sworn fealty
