Patrick, earl of Dunbar, and Patrick, his son, announce that abbot and monks of Kelso Abbey, being accountable to William de Courtenay and his wife Ada, in seventh year of agreement made between them about rent of their land in Hume (BWK), at petition of William and the earl, have paid 25 marks at beginning of sixth year, by hand of Jordan, son of Ursus. Thus at end of seventh year they will have to pay William 25 marks, so that total ferme of 10 years shall be paid in full. The earl has promised that nothing further shall be demanded from them.
