Description
Patrick, earl of Dunbar, for Dryburgh Abbey; has granted peatery in Fans (BWK), which is west of ‘Kingeswele’ (King’s Well) between ditches, which is an acre and a half, and a half acre of peatery which is south of the ditches, as contained in charter of Richard of Fans. Moreover, he grants whole meadow of Kingside by its full boundaries, to be held by Richard of Fans and his heirs for length of time agreed, as is contained in chirograph made between them (the monks) and Richard of Fans. The earl grants and establishes all of these to canons but reserves his service.
