Description
Patrick, son of Patrick (I) earl of Dunbar, has truthfully come to know by the charter of King Edgar and by many other disclosures, and has recognised in the court of the lord king Alexander (II) the full right of Coldingham Priory to the villa and demesne of Swinwood (BWK), with its pertinents, over which he had once unjustly given them trouble. He has quitclaimed under oath and by staff and baton in the court of the lord king the villa of Swinwood and its whole demesne, with is pertinents and any right or claim in the villa, demesne lands, men, services and homages, woods and plains, cultivated or uncultivated, to Coldingham Priory, and has restored to them what his predecessors unjustly occupied. This quitclaim was made in the court of the lord king Alexander, illustrious king of Scots, at Roxburgh, 30 Mar. 1231.
