Description
Gregory, bishop of Brechin, with the wish and assent of his chapter, has given, granted, and by his charter established, at perpetual ferme to Arbroath Abbey the whole land of Drumsleed (KCD) which he had by purchase from Stephen of Kinnerley, by all its rights bounds and with all its pertinents, and all rights and liberties without any reservation, in perpetuity, free and quit from all service, custom and exaction, as contained fully in Stephen's charter, save the forinsec service of the lord king, for which Arbroath Abbey shall answer, for an annual render of five marks to the support of the bridge of Esk, half at Pentecost and half at Martinmas, under penalty of ecclesiastical censure.
