Description
Maldoven, son and heir of the earl of Lennox, Alwin the younger, son and heir of Alwin, earl of Lennox, the elder, for the sake of God and holy charity and love of Blessed Kentigern and for the souls of King David and Earl Henry and King Malcolm and for the salvation of the soul of his lord King William and Lady E[rmengarde] the queen, and his lord Alexander their son, and others, has granted, and by this his charter has established, for St Kentigern, Glasgow Cathedral, and Walter, bishop of Glasgow, in perpetuity, the church of Campsie (STL) with land that his father A[lwin] gave to that church at its dedication, on the day of its dedication, with the chapels that belong to it, and with all its just pertinents and ecclesiastical liberties, and with common pasture and with all other easements, in free, pure, quiet and perpetual alms, as his father’s charter attests and establishes.
