- Description
- Duncan, earl of Mar, has given and granted, and by this his charter has established, to the céli Dé or canons of Monymusk (ABD), the church of Leochel (ABD) with all teinds, liberties, oblations and obventions, and with the whole of the half davoch of land in which the church is sited, free from every exaction and secular service, such as teinds and altar oblations; and with common pasture; to hold in free, pure, quiet and perpetual alms, from him and his heirs; for the soul of his lord King William and his ancestors, and for the soul of his father, Morgan, and his mother Agnes, and all his ancestors, and for the salvation and prosperity of his lord King Alexander and all of his own, and for salvation and prosperity of himself and his wife and all his heirs. He wills and instructs that the céli Dé or canons should hold the church of Leochel with the said land and with all its lawful pertinents and rights, as freely (etc.) as any religious men hold any alms or church from the gift of any earl or baron or knight in the whole kingdom of Scotland.
