Document 3/18/16 (St A. Lib., 311-12)

Description
William, earl of Mar, has approved the grants and donations which Morgrund his grandfather, earl of Mar, made to St Andrews Priory of the church of Tarland (ABD) with its land and just pertinents; also the donation which Agnes his grandmother, late countess of Mar, made to the same priory of the church of Migvie (ABD), with its land and just pertinents; the earl and his heirs will supply any want in what has been less than lawfully given and confirmed by Earl Morgrund or Countess Agnes in respect of these churches and lands; and inasmuch as he can, for the sake of charity, he gives the aforesaid churches with all their just pertinents and freedoms in free, pure and perpetual alms. He also gives to the said church of Migvie one acre of land near the church on the south side lying between the church and the castle of Migvie, for the vicar or chaplain's house. And since the prior and convent have granted their land of Tarland to him at ferme, just as it is the more fully set out in their charter, he has, at the request of the prior and convent, given and granted to the vicar 4 acres of land lying to the southeast side of the church of Tarland.
