Description
Maldoven, earl of Lennox, has given, granted, and established by this his present charter, to Maurice (or Murethach) son of Gillespic and Arthur, his son, and to the heirs of the same Arthur, the quarter of the land in 'Auchincloich' (DNB) which lies nearer 'Strochelmakessoc', in exchange for two lands, namely, 'Thombethy' (Tambowie) and 'Letyrmolyn', which he could not warrant to Murethach and Arthur; Maurice and Arthur, etc., are to hold and have the land in Auchinloch of him and his heirs, doing the 32nd part of the service of a knight for all service, custom, exaction and secular demand. The earl and his heirs will warrant the said land (Auchinloch) to Murethach and Arthur against all men.
