Description
Pope Innocent [III] commands the archbishops, bishops, abbots and priors, deans, archdeacons, and other ecclesiastical dignitaries that they are to prohibit a range of abuses against the brethren of the Hospital of Jerusalem by threat of perpetual anathema or sentence of excommunication; and they are to suspend or excommunicate any priest or cleric in their jurisdiction who has committed a transgression in a house of the Hospitallers.
