Description
Pope Adrian IV writes to Robert, prior of St Andrews, taking the church into his protection; all the possessions and goods which they have or may acquire by papal permission, by the liberality of kings or the gifts of the faithful, may remain with the prior and his successors, including East Balrymonth (FIF), Stravithie (FIF), Cassindonald (FIF), Drumcarro (FIF), Ladeddie (FIF), Strathkinness (FIF), ‘Balehucca’ (prob. Claremont, FIF), Rummond (FIF), ‘Pethultin’ (PER?), Balgove (FIF), ‘Kinnastare’ (FIF), ‘Kinnamone’ (FIF), ‘Drumsac’ (FIF), Baldinnie (FIF), ‘Eglesnamin’ (FIF), Balone (FIF), Scooniehill (FIF), Kinninmonth (FIF), the abbey of Loch Leven with churches, lands and cain pertaining to it; the church of Linlithgow (WLO) with the chapel, lands and appendages, the church of St Andrew of Forgan (FIF); 1 mark annually at Easter towards the lighting of the church from the king’s ferme of Perth; from the gift of the king, 3 marks towards the vestments of the canons from his cain in Perth; two waters in the same villa, and in Berwick, one water; two portions in the altar of St Andrews; the hospital of the same villa with its possessions and appendages, the mills of Kilrymont (FIF), Peekie (FIF), and Nydie (FIF) and everything that Bishop Robert had granted and established by his script. At the death of Robert, their bishop, they may choose his successor; as the céli De die they are to be replaced by regular canons.
