Document 2/143/103 (Newb. Reg., no. 240)

Description
Pope Innocent IV writes to the abbot, co-abbots and convents of the entire Cistercian order, noting that monks of their order are used to being promoted in their orders by instruction without any other examination by prelates of the churches. The pope thus directs that this should be observed except if the monk should commit a criminal act.
