Document 2/140/42 (Glas. Reg., no. 165)

Description
Pope Gregory IX writes to the bishops and prelates in the kingdom of the Scots, noting that since one might be called to court outside the kingdom of the Scots and on this side of the sea, not without the expenses of people and things, he has been directed to provide mercy to them. Therefore, he indulges that they may not be called to court outside the kingdom and this side of the sea without mention being made of this indulgence, unless they may be brought elsewhere lawfully.
