Description
Pope Gregory IX writes to the bishop of Moray, noting that the bishop of Sodor has begged of him that, since the bishopric of Argyll, which has fallen into great poverty, was entrusted to him, and since he is unable to carry on the care of both sees on account of his many infirmities, he be released from this burden. The pope thus commands the bishop of Moray to release the same bishop from the care of the church of Lismore, and to cause a suitable person to be appointed, by canonical election, as bishop.
