Document 2/41/8 (Glas. Reg., no. 154)

Description
Sir Robert of Hertford, clerk of the lord [bishop] of Glasgow, makes known that since Master H[ugh] de Potton had relinquished the church of Dryfesdale (DMF), belonging to him by the ordination of bishop of Glasgow, and Robert, through other letters patent concerning this and other business, had been appointed procurator, he now resigns the said church into the bishop’s hands, which church had been granted to him for his own uses by the apostolic see. The said bishop, wishing to provide for his dear clerk, has bestowed and granted the archdeaconry of Glasgow on the said master in the presence of Master H[ugh] and Sir A., chaplains of the bishop, saving episcopal right and dignity.
