Description
John de Balliol writes to Sir G[amelin], bishop of St Andrews, noting that he had resigned to Dryburgh Abbey all right and claim which he, Dervorguilla, his spouse, and their heirs, have concerning the right of patronage of the church of Lauder (BWK). He further asks that the bishop not permit anyone to disturb the said church but grant peaceful sasine since they have taken the said abbot and convent under their protection.
