Description
Elias Chaunum of Ayton has granted and given, and made firm by this his charter, and quitclaimed, and resigned by rod and staff, for the default of service which he owed and has not made, to Coldingham Priory, all right he has in a half-ploughgate of land in the villa of upper Ayton, which he held of the prior and monks of Coldingham in return for homage and service; and he has handed it over to Henry, prior of Coldingham, in the full court of Ayton on the vigil of St Thomas the apostle, 1258.
