Description
J[ohn], abbot of Lindores, H[enry], prior of St Andrews, and the prior of Lindores, confirm the settlement of the case called between the abbot and convent of Dunfermline and Master Richard, rector of the church of Hailes (MLO), for one part, and the abbot and convent of Holyrood for the other, concerning the teinds of Craigs of Gorgie (MLO), whereby that the abbot and convent of Dunfermline and Master Richard, rector of the church of Hailes, renounce the lawsuit and the abbot and convent of Holyrood would give yearly one bezant or 2s. at the feast of St Martin towards the lighting of the church of St Cuthbert of Hailes and thus all controversy between the church of St Cuthbert of Hailes and St Cuthbert below the castle of Edinburgh shall cease for ever.
