Description
William, bishop of St Andrews, as a result of a dispute between Richard, vicar of Musselburgh, and the monks of Dunfermline concerning the assessment of the church of Musselburgh (MLO), has assessed the vicarage for the said Richard in this manner: he shall pay for all obventions and lesser teinds pertaining to the altarages of the church, excepting all kinds of fish and the teinds of all the mills which belong to the monks, 10 marks, that is, 5 marks at the feast of St Michael and 5 marks at Easter.
