Walter Bisset notifies that he swore, in the hand of Sir Herbert, abbot of Kelso, in full chapter of Kelso Abbey, to observe the liberties of the church of [Peter]Culter (ABD) and he obligated himself to do the aforesaid by oath […] which he constructed for the work of the Knights Templar in the territory of the same church, lest any of the possessions or rights which the church became accustomed to receive, or which have been recognised as pertaining to it, may be destroyed [obliterated]
