Description
Walter de Bolbec son of Walter de Bolbec, at the petition and assent of Hugh de Bolebec, his brother and heir, for the soul of his father Walter de Bolbec, and for the welfare of the soul of Sybilla de Bolbec, his mother, and for his own soul and that of his brother, Hugh, has given, granted and by this his present charter established in perpetuity to Brother Walter and Brother Roger, monks of ‘Mercheley’, the entire land of the hermitage that is founded on the ‘Merchingburn’ (Marchburn), in pure and perpetual alms, with all the liberties and easements that Brother William had in the time of his father and in his own time. After the death of William or Roger, he has given, granted and established the same to two monks of the habit of the order of Kelso.
