Description
Agreement between (i) Prior Gilbert and the convent of St Andrews and (ii) the céli De of St Andrews. The prior and canons of St Andrews have granted to the céli De that they should have and hold in perpetuity, the rightful, full teinds in their lands of Kingask (FIF), Kinkell with Pitsporgy (FIF), and Petkenny (FIF), ‘Lethin’ with ‘Kininnis’ (Lambieletham, FIF), Cairns (FIF) with Cameron (FIF), the rest having been retained in the hand of the canons, namely, spousal dues, purification dues, oblations, baptismal dues and burial dues, except the bodies of the céli De who may be buried wherever they wish. In addition, the céli De shall have all teinds and obventions of Kinglassie (by St Andrews, FIF), except baptismal and burial dues; Strathtyrum by its right bounds in perpetuity, free and quit from all things, just as the céli De themselves freely and quietly had that villa. And to make this firm they shall see to it that they have the confirmation of King William and the confirmation of Bishop Roger (of St Andrews).
