Description
Lady Eschina of London has granted and by this her present charter established in free, pure and perpetual alms to Kelso Abbey the church of Mow (ROX), so much as to pertains to her, with every justly pertaining to it, just as the chirograph composed by her and Kelso testifies, and additionally, pasture rights, the meadow between 'Eddridesete' and the river of 'Ruhope', which Kelso's men held before her, and part of the land which lies above the river of 'Bolebent' opposite Blackpool and the croft near the house of William the Forester, and she quitclaimed to the monks all rights which pertained to her in the mill. This grant and confirmation she made for the salvation of her lords, King William and Alexander, his son, and for the salvation of her soul and her heirs, and the souls of her father and my mother, and for the souls of her lords, Sir Walter son of Alan, and Sir Henry, and for the souls of Eschina, her daughter and all of her ancestors and sucessors.
