Description
Agreement between (i) Andrew, bishop of Moray, and (ii) Walter of Moray (son of the late William of Moray), over the lands of Alturlie (INV), Lunnin (INV), Dun Davie (Daviot, INV) and Croy (INV), which William detained and said belonged to him by hereditary right, and over the advowson of the churches of Croy, Aberlour (BNF), Botriphnie (BNF), and Arndilly (MOR), and of the teinds of the king's cain, which the king received from Brackley (INV), Boharm (BNF), Aberlour and Kinermony (in Aberlour); in the following terms. The Bishop has quitclaimed to Walter in perpetuity the teinds of cain aforesaid, and the advowsons of the churches of Aberlour and of Botriphnie. The agreement between Bishop Brice and Walter's father over the aforesaid churches and the church of Arndilly is confirmed. The Bishop has granted to Walter the whole land of Arndilly to hold according to the the form of his instruments obtained on these matters from the bishops of Moray. Walter shall hold the land of Lunnin and of Dun Davie in feu and heritage, returning thereupon 20 shillings yearly to the bishop. Walter has quitclaimed the right he claimed to have in the land of Croy and in the right of patronage of the church of Brackley.
