Document 4/20/40 (Erroll Chrs., no. 9)

Description
An agreement was formed between Abbot Ralph and the convent of Holyrood, on one side, and Sir Gilbert de la Haye, knight, on the other, whereby the abbot and convent demitted at feuferme to Gilbert all their land with the fishing which they have in Clashbenny (PER) from the gift of Sir David, late father of Gilbert, to hold at feuferme in perpetuity, rendering yearly to the abbot ½ mark at Pentecost. If the abbot sends any messenger to that place because of failure of payment, Gilbert or his heirs shall answer to the messenger for the expenses in going there and back.
