Description
An agreement is formed between Prior Simon and the convent of Coldingham and Elias, clerk of Over Ayton (BWK), whereby Prior Simon gave, granted and by his charter established, to Elias, clerk, the toft and croft which he held in Ayton in the south and in ‘eihe’, to hold of Coldingham in exchange for three tofts in the north of that villa, two which belonged to Osulf and Aldred with crofts pertaining to the same houses, and the third toft which belonged to Walifrey [Walfrid?] next to the house of Erkenbricti [Arkenbald?], with three perches of land in the field next to Stanbrigge.
