Description
Gamelin, bishop of St Andrews, John of Acre, Mary, queen of Scotland and wife of the same John, Alexander Comyn, earl of Buchan, William, earl of Mar, Alexander, steward of Scotland, Alan Durward, Robert de Meniers (Menzies) and Gilbert de la Haye, notify that they have now undertaken the custody of the realm of Scotland, stating that they will endeavour to ensure that love and unity be maintained between their lord the king and their lady the queen (Alexander III and letQueen Margaret), and they willingly agree that if they should offend in any way in these things and shall not make amends, that at the request of the king of England within three months of his admonition, the king shall henceforth be under no obilgation to them. They shall freely render their counsel and aid to the king of England within the realm of England, as far as they can, when he need their help.
