Description
William de Vescy, son and heir of the late Sir Eustace de Vescy, by the insistence and petition of Sir Gilbert Avenel, his knight and heir of Cecilia, daughter of Eschina the late lady of Mow, for the salvation of his soul and for the souls of his father and his mother and all of his ancestors and successors, has granted and by this his charter established to Kelso Abbey in free, pure and perpetual alms, all the land, meadow, pasture and other possessions, with all of their pertinents and freedoms, and with all the boundaries, tenements or restrictions which Cecilia, daughter of Eschina of Mow, gave, granted and established, in the territory of Mow (ROX), to Kelso Abbey, in her widowhood and legal power, just as the charter of Cecilia testifies, and the grant and renewal made by Gilbert Avenel relating to the donation of Cecilia, daughter of Eschina of Mow through his charter.
