Description
Thomas son of Alan of Brotherstone has granted and by this his present charter established to Dryburgh Abbey, 20 acres of land in the villa of Brotherstone (BWK), on the western side of the villa, namely, ten acres below the road which goes to Roxburgh, and ten acres above that road, which his father gave to Helen his sister in free marriage, and which 20 acres Alan son of Helen gave to the canons of Dryburgh, in pure and perpetual alms, with all easements and liberties except multure, which is owed to the lord of feu, for an annual render of one pound of pepper at the fair of Roxburgh, or 8d for all service, custom and secular demand.
