Description
Gilbert (Gillebrigte) son of Rotherus (Ruadri?) of Crambeth (now Dowhill) and his heirs owe and by this his charter are obligated to pay to Dunfermline Abbey 10s. annually, half on Pentecost and half on Martinmas, for the quitclaim of the abbey’s right to land between Crambeth (now Dowhill, KNR) and the forest of Outh (FIF), as was recognised by responsible men and by precept of Alexander, king of Scotland, in AD 1231, by stated bounds.
