Description
Richenda, daughter and heir of Humphrey of Berkeley and Agatha his wife, being in the free power of her widowhood, has given, granted and by this her charter established, for the provision of an allowance in her lifetime, [and for her burdensome debts?,] to Arbroath Abbey, in free and perpetual alms, all her feu in the parish of Fordoun in the Mearns (KCD), namely, two Tippertys, Glenfarquhar, Kinkell, ‘Culbac’ (now Newlands) and Monboddo, by their right bounds, with all their just pertinents, saving the forinsec service of the king. She also gave them her mill of Conveth (KCD) with all the multure of the whole parish of Conveth (Laurencekirk, KCD), with all its just pertinents, as freely and quietly as the late king of Scots, William, gave that mill to her father Humphrey and by his charter established.
