John son of Hugh of Redden granted and by this his charter established to Geoffrey of Eckford and his heirs the whole land with its pertinents as his father gave it to Geoffrey and his heirs, in free marriage with Matilida, his daughter, in the villa and territory of Hume (BWK), by the same bounds in which his father held it. Geoffrey and his heirs are to return yearly for John and his heirs to Kelso Abbey for the land 32 pennies and 200 eggs, half at Easter and half at the feast of Saint Michael. Additionally, he gave, granted and by this his charter established and quitclaimed to Geoffrey and his heirs in perpetuity the return of five shillings which his father and him secured annually from Geoffrey for the same land.
