Document 3/100/5 (Lind. Cart., no. 62)

Description
William of Brechin has obligated himself and his heirs to provide all necessary things for the chaplain who will celebrate divine services at the chapel of his castle at Lindores (FIF). The chaplain will make canonical obedience to the mother-church of Abdie (FIF), paying all oblations faithfully to the mother church. William will construct the chapel, by the will of David, bishop of St Andrews, and the assent of the abbot and convent of Lindores, and will make repairs to it as needed. In recognition of the rights of the mother church, William will give a pound of incense yearly to the church of Abdie within the week of Pentecost.
