Description
Thomas de Bataille, son of the late William de Bataille the burgess of Berwick, has given, granted, rendered on high, quitclaimed and by this his present charter established to Kelso Abbey his land which lies in Waltheofgate (BWK) between the land which is of Sir Robert of Roos, which was of the late William White, and the land of Kelso Abbey in ‘Briggat’ for certain sum of money which they gave to him in his great need. The monks are to return annually to the heirs of Luke Black 12 pennies, half at the feast of Saint Michael and the other half at Easter.
