Alexander Comyn, earl of Buchan, constable of Scotland, writes to King Edward I, noting that he has received Edward’s letter, desiring him to desist from any plea against Lady Elena de la Zouche, a co-heiress of the late Sir Roger de Quincy, earl of Winchester. Although the case between them in the king of Scotland’s court was ready for judgement, yet to his own loss he has respited it at King Edward’s command until he explains matters more fully.
