Description
William de Champagne has given, granted and by this his present charter established to Lindores Abbey for the welfare of the soul of his father Robert de Champagne, who is buried there, and others, in pure and perpetual alms, 3 marks annually on Pentecost from his land of Stoke in the county of Leicester. At his petition, the aforesaid monks have granted that a mass shall be sung every day forever at the altar of St Nicholas, in which special commemoration shall be made for the soul of his father.
