Description
John of Neville has given to Robert Goscelin, his kinsman (or cousin), in return for his homage and service, one ploughgate of land in the territory of Prenderguest, of fortified land, to wit, the oxgang of land towards the east that Aldan son of Waltheof held, and 15 acres from my demesne, to be held of him and his heirs in feu and heritage, with some white gloves to be rendered thereupon yearly at Pentecost to him and his heirs in return for the said 15 acres, saving the service of the king and the religious house of Coldingham. This is the first land that he has given or alienated after he became lord of his land of Prenderguest.
