Description
Eve, former wife of Robert de Quincy, for her alms, has bought 25 acres of arable land near the grange of ‘Edmundston’ (in Stenton, ELO) and has given and by this her charter established it to Melrose Abbey, for the soul of her lord, William, king of Scotland, and for the salvation of her soul and the souls of her mother and father and her lords, Robert of Quincy and Walter de Barclay, and Roland, her brother, John, her son, and Christina, her sister, and all the faithful.
