Description
Simon son of Simon of Kinnear has given, granted, and by this his present charter established, to the hospital of St John the Baptist of Jerusalem (i.e., the Knights of St John, or Hospitallers), six acres of land in Wester Kinnear (FIF), with a certain house which Mertham son of Mertham held with a croft, nearest the ‘Brigflat’ on the western side, namely, three acres extending from the house until the other road, and three acres on the west side of the house extending as far as the marsh, with common pasture for 80 ewes with their offspring of one year, and four oxen, and four cows, and two horses, in pure and perpetual alms, with free entry and exit. Hugh of Kilmany, Simon’s very special and useful friend, and his heirs or assignees, may hold and possess the said land with the aforesaid liberties and easements peaceably from the aforesaid hospital, for an annual render of 12d.
