Description
Simon son of Simon of Kinnear, in his legitimate power, has given, granted and by this his present charter established, to St Andrews Priory five oxgangs of land and four acres in Kedlock (FIF) that begin from the acres of the brothers of St Lazarus and extend as far as a syke on the south side, and extend towards the land that was Reginald’s on the east, as far as the borders of the land of Matthew late brother of John of Kinnear, with a toft adjacent to that land, and three other oxgangs, by stated bounds, in pure and perpetual alms, free and quit from all secular service, exaction and demand, with pasture in his demesne as well as common pasture of the villa, and other easements, for four horses, eight oxen and four cows and 80 ewes. Simon and his heirs will answer for forinsec and all other secular services and demands in perpetuity. He obligates himself to the jurisdiction of the lord archdeacon of St Andrews on pain of excommunication, renouncing all appeals, exceptions, and remedies of civil and ecclesiastical law.
