Document 3/479/2 (NRS, AD 1/8)

Peter of Preston, son of the late William, lord of Preston, has given, granted and by this present writing established to William of Preston, son of John of Preston, the grantor’s uncle, all that land in the holding of Myles (Tranent parish, ELO) which is called ‘Mackabey’, and which he had by the gift of William, lord of Preston, his father. Since his seal is little known, he has procured seals of Sir Ralph of ‘Heylyn’, burgess of Haddington, Richard, vicar of Tranent, Henry, vicar of Musselburgh, dean of Haddington, and John of Elphinstone, to be appended to document.
