Description
Richard of Heiton son of the late Master Adam of Heiton, for the salvation of his soul and the souls of his father and his mother and all his ancestors and successors, has given, granted and made firm by this his present charter to Melrose Abbey that sale which Master Adam of Heton, his late father, and Helena, his spouse, Richard’s late mother, made to the house of Melrose of the land of ‘Hengerirgs’ which they held in the territory of Mow from Robert of Pollok and Isabella, his wife, and of a certain meadow below ‘Edriddisseth’ which is called ‘Hollemedu’ which they held from Lady Eschina of Mow, and which land with the said meadow, was owed to pertain to him by hereditary right on the part of Helena, his late mother, and he proved to be heir of the land and meadow. All right and claim which he has or was able to have at any time in the said land and meadow is to be expressly renounced by him and his heirs.
