Description
Walter of Welham states that since a contention arose by his ancestors and afterwards by him against the monks of Melrose concerning a certain parcel of land secured between the bounds of his land of ‘Garsalauch’ and the land of the monks of Burntscarthgreen (DMF), he renounced for him and his heirs all right and claim which he or his ancestors had in the said land or were able to have for a certain sum of money which the monks paid to him by hands.
