Description
William of Horndean, the knight, for the soul […] and the salvation of his lord, king Alexander, his son, and for the salvation of his soul and for the souls of [his] ancestors […] has granted and by this his charter established to Melrose Abbey, in free, pure and perpetual alms, all the land which is called ‘Milnecroft’ (BWK), by stated bounds which included his mill, his land, and the land of the monks, save the pond, the head of the water and the seat of the mill for him and his heirs, with specified restrictions, free and quit [from all] aid, custom and demand. (damaged)
