Description
Ness of London has granted and by this his charter established to Newbattle Abbey in pure and perpetual alms that donation of land which lies between the land which they hold ‘de feudo Regis’, of Prora (ELO) and ‘Hertteburne’ which Ness son of Ness his uncle gave them in pure and perpetual alms, by their right bounds, which were perambulated in the presence of good men, in A.D. 1205, in which year the aforesaid Ness saised the monks in the land and as attested by the charter of the said Ness.
