Description
Richard Maitland, for the welfare of his spouse Avicia, and others, has given, granted and by this his charter established to Dryburgh Abbey, all that land in his territory of Thirlestane (BWK) called ‘Houbeuchousyd’, by stated bounds, in free, pure and perpetual alms, with all common easements of the villa of Thirlestane, saving the terce of Lady Agnes, former spouse of Thomas of Thirlestane, in her lifetime.
