Description
Richard Maitland, for the welfare of his soul, his spouse Avicia’s, and others’, has given, granted and by this his charter established to Dryburgh Abbey in free, pure and perpetual alms, all that land which Walter of ‘Gilling’ held and possessed in his feu of Thirlestane (BWK), by the same bounds and with the same free customs by which Walter held them, and for the augmentation of this land, he gives and grants the canons common pasture in his feu of Thirlestane (BWK) for 40 sheep, 60 cows and 20 horses, with their offspring for three years.
