Description
Roger ‘Grindegret’ of Dumfries gave and granted and established by his present charter to Holm Cultram Abbey one toft in Dumfries, i.e., that which lies between the land of Nicholas the butcher (carnifex) and the land of Henry Loker (locker or locksmith?), which land the said Henry Loker gave and by his charter established to Holm Cultram Abbey, holding in pure and perpetual alms, free from any service, exaction or demand, save the service pertaining to the lord king.
