Description
Henry of Stirling, burgess of Berwick, for the welfare of his soul and that of Robert of Bernham, has given, granted and by this his present charter established to Arbroath Abbey one stone of wax or 40d. in pure and perpetual alms, with the first payment to be made in the villa of Berwick on Whitsun, 1268, from the annual rent of his land on the ‘le Nes’ of Berwick that lies between the land of the late David of Dirleton on the east and the land of Agnes ‘chapelan’ on the west.
