Description
Niall of Scotstoun, son and heir of the late William of Scotstoun, has sold to Dunfermline Abbey the oxgang of land with pertinents which he had by hereditary right in the villa of Scotstoun (WLO) next the queen’s ferry on the southern part of the Forth (i.e., next to South Queensferry, WLO) for a certain sum of money [unspecified] in full court for his sin and peace of mind. In testimony of this he has caused open letters of acquittance authorised by his seal to be made for the aforesaid religious men at Dunfermline on the feast of St Clement, pope, in the year of grace 1228.
